Forest Hill

Forest Hill is one of Toronto’s most prestigious areas to live with mansions rivalled only by those found in Rosedale.

This is an affluent neighbourhood nestled in of the most scenic areas in Toronto. Located north of downtown Toronto, Forest Hill is considered one of the city’s wealthiest neighbourhoods, together with prestigious enclaves such as The Bridle Path, Rosedale, and The Kingsway.

Home to many rich and famous residents, the neighbourhood’s picturesque landscape is characterized by lush parks, rolling hills, expertly manicured lawns, and masterfully designed luxurious mansions along winding tree-lined avenues.

History

Originally incorporated as a village in the 1920s, Forest Hill was officially annexed to Toronto in 1967. It joined the nearby Swansea Village as one of the last communities annexed by the City of Toronto. Forest Hill was previously called Spadina Heights, and was later on named after the summer home of John Wickson.

In its early days, established bylaws in Forest Hill required all homes to be designed by an architect and trees planted on the front lawn of each property. These bylaws had an impact on the neighbourhood’s surroundings decades after, creating a serene backdrop of stately brick and stone mansions flanked by towering hardwoods.
