Moore Park

Moore Park is one of Toronto’s most sought-afterfamily neighbourhoods surrounded by ravines and parks yet still a quick commute to downtown.

This charming neighbourhood in Toronto is located just north of Rosedale. One of the city’s most scenic communities, it is surrounded on all sides by ravines, as well as the historic Mount Pleasant Cemetery, which lies to its north. Residents of Moore Park enjoy a serene, park-like setting, with meandering tree-lined avenues, plenty of wide open space, and a picturesque network of paths and trails ideal for jogging, biking, or hiking.

Moore Park offers an excellent quality of life, and is perfect for families looking for a scenic natural environment within the city. The neighbourhood offers plenty of convenience, thanks to its close proximity to quality schools, parks and recreational venues, restaurants, local shops, and more.

History

Established in the early 1900s, Moore Park is named after developer John Moore, who marketed the neighbourhood to many of Toronto’s affluent residents. To make the area more attractive to buyers, Moore built two bridges leading to the area, and established a railway service which connected the neighbourhood to the Toronto Belt Line Railway.

Moore Park was officially annexed by Toronto on December 16, 1912.
